PS5 FPKG Builder v1.4.4 Released – Direct PKG Building & Trophy Unlocker
Zer0Day has released PS5 FPKG Builder v1.4.4, bringing a much easier PKG-building workflow along with new Trophy Unlocker features for the PS5 scene.
What is PS5 FPKG Builder?
PS5 FPKG Builder is a Windows tool developed by Zer0Day designed to help users build PS5 PKG packages from prepared game dumps and supported image/container formats.
Instead of jumping between several different tools and manually handling multiple conversion steps, PS5 FPKG Builder puts much of the process into one graphical interface.
What’s New in v1.4.4?
One of the biggest improvements in v1.4.4 is the ability to build a PKG directly from a prepared game folder or a mounted exFAT image.
This removes the need for the old intermediate dump-copying step, making the overall process cleaner and more convenient while leaving the original source files untouched.
Another major addition is the Trophy Unlocker.
The tool can connect to a PS5 over the local network, detect the currently running game and its PPSA, read Trophy2 information, and display locked and unlocked trophies.
Users can select individual trophies or use an Unlock All option. However, Zer0Day notes that Trophy Unlocker may not work with every game.
What Is It Used For?
The main purpose of PS5 FPKG Builder is to take already prepared PS5 content and package it into a PKG that can be used in compatible PS5 homebrew/jailbreak environments.
A simple example would be:
Prepared PS5 Game Folder → PS5 PKG
or
Mounted exFAT Image → PS5 PKG
This makes the tool especially useful for people experimenting with their own game backups, homebrew and the developing PS5 FPKG ecosystem.
How Do You Use It?
The basic process is straightforward.
Open PS5 FPKG Builder on your Windows PC, select your prepared source folder or supported image, choose your output location and start the build.
The program then handles the package-building process and provides progress information during the operation.
For Trophy Unlocker, your PS5 needs to be reachable over the local network. Enter the console’s IP address, connect to the PS5 and let the tool detect the currently running game before loading its trophy information.
Important: This Is Not Automatic Backporting
There is one important detail users should understand.
Changing the target SDK or firmware information does not automatically backport a PS5 game.
A real backport can require modifications to the executable and other game components. Simply changing package metadata doesn’t guarantee that a newer game will run on an older firmware.

GoldenGamesNexus Note
PS5 FPKG development continues to move forward, and tools like PS5 FPKG Builder are making workflows that previously required several separate steps much easier to manage.
The direct folder/exFAT building introduced in v1.4.4, combined with the Trophy Unlocker functionality, makes this an interesting update for PS5 homebrew users.
As always, use your own legally obtained game backups, and keep in mind that compatibility can vary depending on the game, firmware and jailbreak environment.
Stay on the lowest firmware possible and stay tuned to GoldenGamesNexus for the latest PS5 jailbreak and homebrew news.
