PS5 13.60 Jailbreak: Major Hypervisor Breakthrough Revealed
The PS5 jailbreak scene just got one of its biggest updates in a while.
Developer Jordy, also known as couldbeautism, has revealed new work targeting PS5 firmware 13.60, including projects called Slopkit, Slopsploit and Slopervisor. The most interesting part of the announcement is Slopervisor, which targets the PS5 hypervisor — one of the console’s strongest security layers.
According to information shared by Jordy, a proof of concept was successfully tested on firmware 10.00, with the vulnerability believed to affect PS5 systems up to firmware 13.60. The PS5 Developer Wiki also lists Slopervisor as affecting firmware 13.60 and below. (PS3 Developer wiki)
This is a big deal because getting past the hypervisor could give developers much deeper control over the PS5 than a normal WebKit or kernel exploit alone. It could eventually help open the door to better homebrew support, Linux and other features on newer firmware versions.
There has also been progress with Slopkit, the WebKit side of the exploit chain. Firmware-specific work has been appearing for newer versions, including 13.xx. (TwistedVoxel)
But there’s one important thing to understand:
This does NOT mean PS5 13.60 has a finished one-click jailbreak available right now.
Several pieces of the puzzle are coming together, but they still need to be properly implemented, tested and connected into something regular users can reliably run.
So if you’re sitting on PS5 firmware 13.60 or lower and you’re interested in jailbreaks or homebrew, the safest move remains simple:
Don’t update.
The PS5 scene is moving fast, and firmware 13.60 has suddenly become one of the most interesting versions to watch.
We’ll continue following the development of Slopkit, Slopsploit and Slopervisor and post an update on GoldenGamesNexus when there’s something new worth talking about.
