HyperHEN v0.9.1-dev Released for PS5 — All-in-One HEN, HyperCore, ShadowMountPlus and More

October 14, 2026 | GoldenGames Nexus | PS5 Homebrew News

Developer MICHELE MEDIA has released HyperHEN v0.9.1-dev, an all-in-one HEN and Toolbox for jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles.

The project combines multiple homebrew components into a single launchable ELF payload, including HyperCore, firmware-specific hypervisor routes, automatic mounting, plugin management, cheats, performance monitoring, and additional system utilities.

According to the official GitHub documentation, HyperHEN is based on work from the PS5 homebrew community, including OnionHEN, etaHEN, Kstuff, ShadowMountPlus, and other open-source projects.

Key Features Included in HyperHEN v0.9.1-dev

HyperCore Integration

HyperHEN includes a source-built HyperCore component combining the Kstuff-lite base, A53/PPR preparation, and BackPork process support.

Firmware-Specific HEN and Hypervisor Routes

The release includes several firmware-specific implementations:

* Legacy HEN profiles for selected firmware versions from 1.00 through 4.51.

* Byepervisor 5.xx for firmware 5.00, 5.02, 5.10, and 5.50.

* Byepervisor Reborn for firmware 13.00, 13.20, and 13.60, including a required Rest Mode handoff.

HyperHEN Automount

The project integrates a ShadowMountPlus-based automount engine for managing image, title, USB, and fakelib mounting operations.

HyperHEN Toolbox

A dedicated Toolbox integrated into the PS5 Settings interface provides access to plugin and payload management, account tools, fan controls, Remote Play pairing, and other system functions.

Cheat Engine and Performance Overlay

HyperHEN includes support for JSON, SHN, MC4, and ShnExt cheat files.

Its in-game overlay can display FPS, CPU and GPU information, memory usage, temperatures, and network information.

HyperDPI Browser Package Installer

The release includes HyperDPI, an integrated browser-based package management service with upload queues and progress tracking.

The service is disabled by default and is intended for trusted local networks.

HyperLinux Boot

HyperHEN also integrates a Linux boot mechanism based on pLinux5-NG and ps5-linux-loader, accessible through the Advanced Debug section of the Toolbox.

This feature requires a dedicated clean-boot procedure.

Plugin Compatibility

HyperHEN supports its own plugin ELFs and includes handling for etaHEN-compatible .plugin containers. Compatibility with individual third-party plugins is not guaranteed.

Important Firmware Testing Information

The developer specifically states that the combined HyperCore implementation has been validated using console logs on PS5 firmware 5.00.

Other included firmware profiles require further testing on real hardware.

The presence of firmware-specific code does not confirm that the complete HyperHEN system has been successfully tested on every listed firmware version.

Requirements

HyperHEN does not include an initial kernel exploit.

Users need an already jailbroken PS5 and an external elfldr running on port 9021 to launch the initial payload.

After startup, HyperHEN uses its own private ELF loader on port 9020.
