Developer saawant12 has released Orbit Store v0.5.0 Beta, bringing new download options and browsing improvements to the PS5 application.

The biggest addition is Vikingfile support through the console’s browser. Users open the provider’s download page on PS5, complete any required verification, and select Download. After returning to Orbit, the application checks the file and adds it to the download queue.

According to the official release notes, the catalogue includes 581 games to browse, with single-file options across Archive.org and Vikingfile, including exFAT and FFPFSC. Orbit now opens directly to the catalogue, displaying titles with the newest recorded release dates first.

Manage Downloads from Your PS5 or Phone

Orbit lets users choose the PS5’s internal storage or an attached drive as their download destination. Downloads can be paused, resumed, or retried, with the queue preserved after restarting the application.

A phone or computer on the same network can also be paired to manage downloads. New diagnostic tools let users view Orbit’s status and copy a support report; nothing is sent automatically.

Future catalogue additions and metadata corrections can arrive without reinstalling Orbit. However, the new Vikingfile options require version 0.5.0.

Still in Beta: Current Limitations

Orbit saves files but does not extract archives, directly install packages, or launch games. Downloads also do not continue in rest mode, so the PS5 must remain awake.

Library features depend on a compatible version of ShadowMount. The developer states that full console downloads, storage operations, and support for other firmware versions still require hardware testing. A reported interaction with the etaHEN toggle remains under investigation, and this release does not claim to fix it.
