Gezine’s April Zero-Day Returns to the Spotlight After PS4 14.00 Exploit Tease

Gezine is once again drawing attention in the PlayStation scene after teasing private exploitation of the newly released PS4 firmware 14.00.

What makes this development particularly interesting is what happened earlier this year.

In April 2026, Gezine revealed that he had developed a private zero-day kernel exploit affecting PS4 and PS5 after extensive PlayStation security research. At the time, Gezine made it clear that the kernel exploit would not be publicly released.

Now, only days after Sony released PS4 firmware 14.00, Gezine has demonstrated private exploitation on the new firmware.

This immediately raises an important question: Is the PS4 14.00 demonstration connected to the kernel zero-day Gezine discovered in April?

At this point, there is no public confirmation that the same vulnerability is being used. Gezine could be using the April zero-day, another private kernel vulnerability, or a different exploit chain altogether.

What we do know is significant: Gezine demonstrated serious private kernel research earlier this year, and he is now showing exploitation progress on Sony’s latest PS4 firmware almost immediately after its release.

For now, there is no public PS4 14.00 jailbreak available, and users should not update expecting to use Gezine’s private work.

The GoldenGames Nexus team will continue following Gezine’s research and will report when additional technical information becomes public.
